Sankarapuram is a taluk headquarters in Viluppuram District of Tamil Nadu. It is on the State Highway between Kallakurichi and Thiruvannamalai. There is a famous Thandavaneshwarar Temple at Mukanur, which is on the Sankarapuram-Thiruvannamalai Road. Kalrayan Hills, Tirukkoyilur and Sri Gnanananda Niketan (a spiritual center) are easily accessible from this town.
